Crash Landing on You – Korean Drama

Crash Landing on You is nothing short of a masterpiece when it comes to the romantic drama from a North Korean viewpoint. With a little of everything, be it action, romance or even comedy, this show has it all.

The particular story revolves around a rich woman who is paragliding but is swept by a gust of wind and ends up in North Korea. In the incident, a North Korean Captain finds her and decides to help her.

Son Ye-jin

Due to starring in the hit drama Crash Landing on You, Son Ye-jin has gained popularity and is now considered one of the highest paid actresses in South Korea. Son was seen throughout the world, with fans all over waiting to see her relationship with Hyun Bin and they weren’t disappointed, to say the least.

The show features the life of a fashion stylist, Yoon Se-ri, who as the name suggests is quite wealthy and has a vast collection of fashionable items. While she is on a paragliding trip, she gets a little too close to the misfortunes that lie within North Korea. However, she is saved by an officer, Ri Jeong-hyeok, who shows her compassion and the two eventually have romance blossoms between them. Little did they know, things were only going to get more complicated from there.

Son began her career in acting in the year 2000 though she made a guest appearance in Park Ki-hyung’s film Secret Tears , she eventually got in the limelight when she got a leading role in the 2001 romantic comedy Delicious Proposal. Furthermore, she acted in Im Kwon-taek’s film Chi-hwa-seon which is about a Korean painter Lim Hyun-soo and from there on, she was nicely placed in the industry. Additionally, Son enjoys a modeling career as well whereby she has featured in advertisements for designer brands such as Valentino and Tom Ford Beauty. Hyun Bin Hyun Bin is one of the most beloved actors in Korea. He is eclectic when it comes to genres and has gained global recognition with the works ‘The Fatal Encounter(2014)’ which revives the story of King Jeongjo’s youth and ‘Confidential Assignment(2017)’ which is based on the theme of Korea reunification. He made his first appearance on screen in the year 2003, in a supporting role in the drama ‘Bodyguard’ but his comeback as the lead character in the K-drama ‘Island’ in the year 2004 is what earned him notable fame in Korea. After that, he featured as the lead in critically acclaimed movies and TV series.

He has appeared in a number of television series such as ‘Stairway to Heaven’, ‘Memories of Alhambra’, and most recently the popular Netflix series ‘Crash Landing on You’. He has a spouse and a son, while participating in charity work as well. He also promotes products of fashion houses like Valentino and Tom Ford Beauty. He is regarded as one of the true Hallyu stars. Hyun Bin possesses charm, good looks, and professionalism when he is on screen, and has diverse roles ranging from romantic comedies to thrillers and action to heros.

Kim Hye-kyung

While Zhang witnesses the imagery of the North’s beauty, she encounters an unexpected circumstance after she finds herself crash landing in the icy waters of the North. The entire drama is very engaging because of their silly and ridiculous actions. Furthermore, they are just as cutthroat regarding their daughters’ exam scores just as any other South Korean mother would be.

The ajummas aren’t the only comically-inclined characters in the drama because Goo Seung-jun is highly amusing as he plays the poker-faced henchman of Se-ri’s local militia, who also happens to be the object of her affection. However, he is eventually won over by her, but they are faced with the challenge of coming from two different countries. During the course of their romance, it is easy to see how easy it was for Se-ri to understand his psyche.

As I See It (What Do I See): An assemblage of Baeksang picks, and even managing to win one for A Moment to Remember, My Wife Got Married, The Truth Beneath, the list is too long to exhaust. A solid sultry actress look with better half. She’s got sizzling chemistry with Hyun Bin, no wonder they are a power couple in real life too. The recent project was one aired in the Korean series Reply 1988 which has also been nominated in the same category of awards.

What The Future Holds For Us: The look Giles has been missing, a desired ahjussi look of romance in his comedy. Playing the ex-gangster who owned a shop with his scoop of “Doo Chil”, of the big dipper gang, Jang Hyuk a.k.a TJ is a heart maelstrom. Moreover, Jeong-hyeok, a North Korean soldier, who raises Se-ri as his child and conceives secret means of sending her to South Korea, starved her. My interest was equally piqued by the lunatic nature of this show.

The series shows us several action-packed scenes, including car chases, torture, and gunfire. The cast is also great, in particular Son Ye-jin and Hyun Bin. They are such a quotable couple; their banter is full of sweetness, humor, and romance (all things bittersweet).

As previously stated, the series aims to defy the odds by developing a plot that has little relevance to the genre. In addition to the aforementioned, the primary female protagonist is a rich woman from the southern region and in the northern region a soldier, not the clichéd image of a poor South Korean woman and a rude North Korean man. The drama respectfully addresses delicate topics such as government surveillance, political corruption, and power abuse while also integrating romance, melodrama, and plenty of funny moments.

Kim Se-ri If there is one thing that sets Kim Seung-yoon apart from other aspiring K-drama characters, it is his dramatic tension in Crash Landing on You: he is an amateur actor. Not only does he rely on his acting skills, but he also incorporates well-defined storylines.

As a result of an unfortunate paragliding incident, Yejin Son’s South Korean character Se-ri finds herself in the North Korean territory, where she almost gets captured but is rescued by a gentleman named Ri Jeong-hyeok (played by Hyun Bin). Revolutions in history have always been decried, however, he brings her home and introduces her to the Northern lifestyle.

There are some people including a crooked cop and a network of intermediaries who are helping to conceal Se-ri and Jeong-hyeok’s brother, who is as ferocious and shrewd as a wolf, and his love to play puppeteer wife. I mean, there are also village “ajummas” who haul their families’ drama to gossip with Se-ri to help her fit in North Korea, as if it is that easy. But not all of these characters are created equal.
