A shooting reportedly took place during the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner at the Washington Hilton in Washington, D.C., on April 25, 2026.

According to AP and Reuters, an armed man tried to move toward the ballroom area while President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump were at the event. Shots were fired, security responded quickly, and Trump was unharmed.

Authorities identified the suspect as Cole Tomas Allen, 31, from Torrance, California. He was taken into custody, and early reports say investigators believe he acted alone, though the motive was still unclear.A Secret Service agent was hit, but the bullet-resistant vest reportedly prevented serious injury.
