Thailand – Places to Visit
Bangkok is a busy place, there is no denying that as it is also a very fun place. Temples, a magnificent hotel scene and the best food the country has to offer is something that one can also find here.
The Dream World amusement park in Bangkok is a wonderful place to be for children as every fantasy is bound to become true. It is a perfect day out for the entire family.
Bangkok Kart racers also enjoy the capital of Thailand as it has plenty of delicacies including shrines multiculturally based. The Grand Palace complex which is greatly adored with Wat Phra Kaew also has one of the most fascinating sights in this city. A splendour of intricate architecture, touring the impressive premises and temples introduces true Buddhist belief in any person visiting the site.
With many in the eastern hemisphere calling it a fusion of east and west Bangkok has plenty of its well-known culture in its rivers and canals of the city which can easily be loved through a boat. A relaxing 2.5 hour khlong or canal cruise allowing the opportunity to do some local shopping on the waters with a lot of merchants selling food and other pieces of jewelry.
The main Buddha’s birthplace in Nepal is the Lumpini Park, it is also one of the most expansive parks in the city. For the local people though it is more than just a park as it is larger than 98 soccer fields, they visit to unwind, while elders engage in Tai Chi and Spinster’s along the lake. The Artist’s House in Thonburi is another great place to visit where one can witness the distinguished Traditional Thai puppetry art form.
Riding a tuk tuk is an unrivaled experience for people when they are in Thailand but the locals literally use these as a rickshaw replacement, it is also the most common form of transportation in these cities but you can find them relatively effortlessly. When boarding a tuk tuk, consider if you are in a busy place because it will be troublesome to get one, and dont forget to haggle! There are enough choices when it comes to transportation other than tuk tuks so no stress.
The beauty of Koh Phi, with its tropical coral water and karst limestone cliffs is a sight to witness and there will always be an activity waiting to be done on Koh Phi. But you will have to consider that Phi Phi does have a loud recurring party scene which is filled with party animals but if that is something you do not want to deal with then stay away from Tonsai Pier central.
If you wish to experience the other side of Phi Phi, then venturing to the secluded areas of Loh Ba Kao and Loh Dalum bay should be on your list. It’s somewhat more peaceful around this area and you can find some posh resorts like SAii Phi Phi Island Village Beach Resort or Zeavola Resort.
Maya Bay was made popular by a movie in the year 2000 and it is considered the crown jewel of Koh Phi with glowing emerald waters. Towering limestone cliffs surround the bay and golden sands cover the shoreline. It is a well-known site but in order to enjoy the sights when it is less busy you can go there around early morning hours or late evenings.
On the other side of the island, you can also explore Viking Cave. You cannot go deeper inside the cave but you can take pictures from outside. The cave features Viking-style murals and is regularly utilized by native inhabitants for the collection of swiftlet birds’ nests. This cave also has a large number of these birds which are famous in Chinese dishes for their nests.
Koh Lanta
Even though over the years tourists have started to flock to Koh Lanta, the island still feels small along with their immense natural beauty. It is also very cheap and a great destination to go for a laid-back vacation in Thailand!
December-May is considered the best period to travel to Koh Lanta. On the other hand, I would not advise one to travel to Koh Lanta from June to September as this is the rainy season and it can get a little damp and muddy.
There is a range of accommodation possibilities on the island, from budget backpacker hostels to 5 star luxury hotels and dreamlike bungalows by the beach. You will have the opportunity to rent a scooter either from your hotel or at the port such that you can tour around the beaches on your own. If you want to see more pristine parts of the island, you can also take a day trip over to Koh Lanta Noi by crossing over Siri Lanta Bridge. This part of the island is not developed yet for the purpose of tourism which means you can have fun with the untouched beaches and the scenery!
The best thing to do in Koh Lanta is to book a tour that includes the Old Town part of shows and tells with a longtail boat ride through mangrove forests to the Sea Gypsy village and more. You can find many of these tours on the internet through 12Go, this is the most popular booking agency in Thailand. They even provide a direct bus from Krabi to Koh Lanta which is indeed the best way to access the island!
Krabi
Apart from the magnificent cliffs and beaches the coastal town of Krabi is known for, there’s more to the area than what meets the eye.
It’s a perfect place for people who want to go off the beaten track and see rare parts of Thailand. One can relish a serene beach or participate in ventures that are highly exhilarating. The region of Krabi has excellent eateries and hostels as well.
Tiger Cave Temple is one of the most important tourist sites in the city. The temple got its name from a group of paw impressions which are believed to enclose a tiger’s front paws. The temple is also stated to contain a large seated golden Buddha statue almost totally screened from the eyes of all the throngs of visitors. The great exciting view of the entire Krabi province can be savored from here.
Another remarkable place to explore while in Krabi is Tup Island. The iciness of the sand texture along with the splendid color of the water enhances the beauty of this island’s beach. The beach is also an attractive place for those seeking to have fun with snorkeling and swimming. It’s also a wonderful place for those who want to snap beautiful images for their Instagram posts.
The most ideal month to visit Tup Island is during the low tide period, when a sand bar reappears linking Tup Island and Chicken Island. This natural phenomenon is breathtaking and bears the name Talay Waek which actually is Divided Sea.
