Elon Musk

Elon Musk

Elon Musk is a business mogul owning PayPal, SpaceX, Tesla motors among various other companies. Furthermore, Elon Musk is the person who invented the hyperloop a new mode of transportation expected to reduce commuting time.

He has been an achiever and turned many industries upside down even when he was on the brink of bankruptcy a couple of times. He seems to have this obsession with accomplishing impossible goals and quite rarely does he get out of his comfort zone.

Elon Musk being the founder of PayPal is quite interesting.

Elon is never a boring figure; he is always taking on large-scale risks. He constantly goes all-in and the same can be said with the risk fuelled ventures he partakes which have at times been hugely profitable for him while other times nearly bankrupting him. At the end of the day he is a businessman who knows how to take risks, which is what fuels his drive.

Ashlee Vance’s book has some very endearing aspects. It presents a unique perspective of a billionaire, a man who has faced harsh media scrutiny but has been successful in his respective field. This is definitely a unique insight into the brain of an entrepreneur who has expanded horizons for an entire new field, this is one of the many reasons why it is an interesting book that is most likely hard to put down.

After experiencing the achievement of Zip2, Musk resolved to attempt something else. He set up an all-encompassing bank which would be called X.com which later on merged with its main rival to become PayPal. He profited a great deal from the deal, but on the other hand, the whole experience left him scarred.

His new company was registered under X, which seemed a bit immature, considering how he dated the company. That was during the time computer companies were falling over themselves to adopt the letter. There was no butt kicking because the company became tremendously successful. In 2002 eBay acquired PayPal for 1.5 billion and Musk sold his shares for 250 million dollars.

Founder of SpaceX The Billionaire Investment Primer Author Elon Musk was among the most aspiring entrepreneurs of his time without a doubt. He was there at the very beginning of PayPal, Tesla Motors and Solar City and even founder of SpaceX, which is known for making spacecrafts that cater to the needs of commercial space travel. Regardless of the blunders that are certain to happen, his businesses have always silenced critics and revolutionized entire domains.

For now, the responsibility to take goods to the International Space Station and the contracts signed with NASA for flying astronauts into orbit are both with SpaceX. The company intends Starship as a more affordable spacecraft.

It was a major advance for the Starlink program when the firm dispatched 60 satellites into orbit in May 2019. However, it also threw up a lot of light from the night sky which made astronomers nervous. Having excess light in the sky can obstruct or complicate the observation of distant objects.

In contrast to his counterparts who spend entire days holed up in boardrooms or seated at assembly lines, Musk is always in motion. He works 7 days a week, at times sleeps at the factory, and always travels to work in his own jet. He has 6 other businesses which operate in Silicon Valley such as Neuralink (which makes implants for the brain), the Boring Company, and X.AI, which rivals OpenAI. He is also a strange man who often rants anti-Sephardic things on twitter.

Founder of Tesla Motors

Elon Musk is an entrepreneur and inventor who is best known for the construction of the Tesla Motors electric car manufacturing unit. He also runs SpaceX which manufactures and designs rockets and spacecraft for missions to orbit around the earth and beyond. He is also actively associated with a few other relatively smaller businesses like the tunnel-maker the Boring Company and the neural computer interface development company Neuralink. Musk has remarked that he has no business interests and that he only gets involved in issues which are “extremely important to the future of mankind.”

Elon has always thought like an entrepreneur. When he was a teenager, he would sell Easter chocolates door-to-door. Subsequently, he attended the University of Pennsylvania where he studied physics and economics at the same time. He graduated with two graduated degrees. His first job after school was at a series of technology start-ups. He helped launch an internet system for online payment PayPal, and also the company Zip2 which provided software and services for Internet business.

Musk has undoubtedly been part of the Tesla stratosphere since way back when and he has witnessed the company evolve from niche not to mention it’s luxury and high end car market to one dominated by mass production. He has also led its expansion in terms of solar energy plus battery manufacturing. In addition, he has been involved in the research and development of the autopilot systems that Tesla’s vehicles have as well as the technology behind it.

Sure enough with the wealth that both SpaceX and Tesla generated for Musk he has now become one of the wealthiest people on Earth, but it wasn’t easy. As Isaacson mentions, those two firms had several moments nearly reaching bankruptcy. Regardless of how many times Musk has failed, time and again he has never stopped.

Founder of Neuralink

Elon Musk fireworks of Neuralink, a company that works on brain-computer interfaces is also reffered to have researched on Artificial Intelligence during working at SpaceX and Tesla. Additionally, he also serves as a co-chair at OpenAI, an organization that promotes and develops artificial intelligence in order to help humans. This is certainly the right move, as artificial intelligence could massively boost economic productivity in the future. What this multi-purpose super app may look like is certainly anybody’s guess at this stage, but Musk is fast losing patience. In a recent podcast, he described his latest project as “an attempt to combine the best of what we know about how the brain works with computers and software”.

With the invention thinking apart, the very first implantable device by his company allows patients who are paralyzed to operate computers and phones by using their minds. With that being said, playing video games, surfing the internet and moving the mouse at his laptop was all the first patient could do. The implant’s tiny wires, however, quickly pulled back after surgery and about ten percent of the electrodes detected brain signals. Recently, it is reported by Reuters that Neuralink implant has been successfully defined with its second paralyzed test subject along with its an able to use test subject.

Tesla Inc. CEO Elon Musk’s brilliance is apparent not just in his professional conduct but also in his private life which is just as dramatic. In his younger days, he was bullied and suffered from an abusive relationship in the family as well, particularly with his father. However, he succeeded in identifying his interest in technology and went ahead to start several companies such as Zip2 which helped newspapers get maps and listings for businesses.

When he is not working in his many businesses, Musk is a voracious reader, plays the guitar and goes for long walks. Furthermore, he is involved in space exploration as a self-taught rocket scientist and astronomer. Likewise, he has been very vocal about his disagreements with the Department of Homeland Security in the US regarding use of immigrants and policies on global warming.
