Monopoly Go – Mobile Game Review
Immerse yourself in the parts of legendary boards and cities in this mobile-centric version of the board game. Buy land, put down houses and hotels, play Chance Cards and make money with MONOPOLY.
The developers of Monopoly Go have put together the best game engines that results in an enjoyable experience. Each screen shake and a cheering animation enhances the immersion of the clicker game, making every second a reward on its own.
Collect Properties
MONOPOLY GO is nothing like the classic board game, it’s filled with events and things to collect . The game’s gameplay is pretty standard, but players can make use of stickers, rolls and special events to know the game better.
There is potential to earn in-game cash by throwing the dice, moving around the game board and completing tasks within the game. This money can be spent to enhance a number of key places that are important to increase the earned revenue of a user. But instead of enhancing single landmarks, a user must focus on completing property sets. This will allow a player to earn exponentially more when the sets are completed as they can use them to construct hotels and houses which will earn them even more once the sets are complete.
Apart from that, players can also earn rewards by completing various tasks within the application. These can range from simple tasks like landing in certain tiles to several trades. Players may also take part in certain time specific events to get rewards like special stickers for properties and currency within the game.
Build Houses & Hotels
Now, I understand that the basic idea in Monopoly originates from the purchase of properties, but in Monopoly GO it is possible to build some houses and/or hotels that can charge rent from other players. At the start, be ready to purchase as many property tiles as you can, they are the best form of making income. In addition, houses and hotels completely enhance the market value of a landmark and therefore should always come as secondary investments. Keep in mind that property tiles with houses and hotels are often part of a color set, which unlocks a bonus prize when you have 5 houses or hotels on one tile.
Besides properties, buildings and hotels, one more thing that is interesting is that One can collect, save and augment many power ups that One may use in order to overpower other players in the game. Though doing so can be expensive so have it saved for when needed most.
Moreover, there is a chance for players to engage in daily quests or participate in special events for cash rewards after collecting and upgrading landmarks. Such rewards may include specific sets of properties, or particular avatars. Players can benefit from staying active in the game and boosting their levels in the ranking as well.
There is a level of compliance with some of the more dreadful elements pertaining to the classification of free to play monetized casual mobile games, however, Monopoly GO is still enjoyable for people willing to spend the time. If they make the maximum of their rolls, set property sets as top priority, use their power-ups judiciously and concentrate on amassing stickers, the progression through the game will be swift.
Upgrade Landmarks
Upgrading a landmark within the game increases the Networth of that player as well as increasing the number of houses and hotels placed on the board. Many veteran players say that they save and build these landmarks to get through the boards quickly. The critical thing is that no one, not even opponents, can destroy an upgraded landmark after a player has purchased it.
Another mechanism to hasten board completion is utilizing daily bonuses like Wheel Boosts, Sticker booms and Landmark rushes. These boosts allow players to roll dice for free, get some free stickers and stand a chance to win some money. Nevertheless, there are some of these boosts every day and not all players get access to all of them.
I have to say all the MONOPOLY GO Mobile Game is a fun and easy game which has potential. The game works well on my OnePlus 10 Pro and the cuteness of sound effects of tapping silver pieces walking around the board is an adorable addition to the game. The only negative points of the title are its shallowness and lack of sky-block monetization. But for those casual gamers who wants to just get through the upper echelons of the game, this is not a big problem. Just be prepared to be hit with in-game IAP advertisement persuasion and guard your pockets! This is one of those games which you might not want to play for long.
Get Social
Pioneered by Scopely, Monopoly Go is a mobile game that can be effortlessly played on a phone and it can be considered a casual version of a family game trying to capture a touch of nostalgia. With its innovative social mechanics and the more relaxed nostalgia based core game play, it does attract a fair number of people who may otherwise not be that interested in gaming, up to a couple of million potentially.
Probably the easiest way to go social, is by getting friends and relatives to join you in playing the game. The first time you load the game, it requests you to access your device’s contact book, thus memorizing every contact and if any of them are players of Monopoly Go, it lets you face them straight away. This option can be turned off later in settings, but it means having to go through more steps to play which may discourage people from playing it.
Apart from the immediate gains through the inclusion of contacts, there are a few more options that sit under the category of in-game social systems which encourage players to socialize with each other. The daily Revenge List for example, maintains a record of every of your opponents’ stealing and destroying antics, whereas in-game features like Coin Looters allow players to simulate a pachinko machine followed by a cash grab. This is done so that players are rewarded for seeking revenge on other players.
Also, the game has a number of events that allow players to form or compete against each other, for example, property runs, battles and contests. Such events, whether competitive or as a team challenge, only make things more entertaining and also create opportunities for players to obtain additional dice rolls or tokens.
